Dies ist der dritte Teil der Royal Protector Serie und hier findet Axel seine große Liebe in Solange. Eine junge Frau, hoch aus dem Norden. Ich persönlich bin nicht so recht warm geworden mit ihr, zu oft schwelgte sie mir in Selbstmitleid oder schob das Wohl anderer Menschen vor, um ihre eigenen Entscheidungen zu begründen. Die Ich- Perspektive hat diesen Charakter wahrscheinlich so schwierig zu lieben gemacht. Sie ist ein liebenswerter Typ keine Frage und natürlich hat sie in ihrem kargen Leben hoch im Norden nichts erlebt und jetzt versucht sie zu genießen. Allerdings klingt alles durch die Ich-Perspektive für mich entweder selbstmitleidig ,egoistisch oder tja… unreif. Das ist sie auch, bedingt durch ihren Lebensstil, aber zum Ende hin versöhnen mich ihre Taten dann doch wieder, auch wenn es teilweise sehr lange dauert bis sie die richtigen Entscheidungen trifft. Axel ist ein echter Schnuckel. Auch wenn er im Dienst schon einiges erlebt hat, gibt es in seinem Herzen fast ausschließlich sonnige Flecken. Der Schreibstil ist toll, sehr gefühlvoll, plastisch und emotional. Ich liebe diese royale Familie, sie sind mir alle sehr ans Herz gewachsen und es ist jedes Mal schön sie in jedem Band wiederzutreffen. Toll fand ich auch das Tempo, das ganz schön hoch war durch die wiederholten Angriffe auf Land und Königsfamilie. Das hat dieses Buch richtig spannend gemacht.
This is the third part of the Royal Protector series and here Axel finds his great love in Solange. A young woman, high from the north. Personally I didn’t really warm up to her, too often she indulged in self-pity or blamed the welfare of other people to justify her own decisions. The ego perspective probably made this character so difficult to love. She is a lovable type no question and of course she hasn’t experienced anything in her meager life up north and now she tries to enjoy. However, the ego-perspective makes everything sound either self-pitying, selfish or well… immature. She is, due to her lifestyle, but towards the end her actions reconcile me, even if it takes a long time until she makes the right decisions.
Axel is a real sweetheart. Even though he has already experienced a lot during his dutys, there are almost exclusively sunny spots in his heart. The writing style is great, very soulful, vivid and emotional. I love this royal family, they all have a place in my heart and it is always nice to meet them again in every new book.
I also liked the speed of the narration, which was quite high due to the repeated attacks on the country and the royal family. That made this book really exciting.
