Oh my goddess, the dark in this dark romance is darker than the ass of an Ice bear. It’s extremely bizarre but also amazing. Creepy, freaky but also sweet. The setting reminded me of ” Misery ” from Stephen King.
Four men in a lost place with a wounded woman. The characters are unusual and you never know what’s wrong , right or just assumed. Everything is diseased with mental illness, obsession or in the case of Laura with hollow feelings. Nobody loved her before, cared for her or taught her right from wrong. She always acted, she was never herself. So feelings came strange and hard in this setting.
I could not put this book out of my hands , it totally fascinated me how the author played with the setting and although it is very strange I never really felt uncomfortable reading. A fantastic mix of spooky action and dark romance with very unusual characters.
